At Racheal and Teens Foundation, we believe every teenager deserves safety, dignity, and the knowledge to protect themselves. That is why we organized our annual outreach program in Ibadan a day dedicated to empowering young people with awareness and practical tools to navigate the challenges they face.
Creating Awareness and Building Confidence
During this outreach, we addressed two critical issues affecting teenagers today: sexual abuse awareness and self-defense. Our goal was not only to educate but also to equip teenagers with the courage and resilience needed to stand against abuse and exploitation.
We were deeply encouraged by the turnout over one hundred teenagers came for the program, eager to learn and participate. Their presence was a powerful reminder of how important it is to provide safe spaces where young people can ask questions, express themselves, and gain life-changing knowledge.
What We Shared
The session focused on:
• Recognizing early signs of abuse and exploitation
• Understanding personal boundaries and the power of saying “no”
• Building the courage to speak up and seek help when necessary
• Learning basic self-defense strategies to boost confidence and preparedness
The interaction showed how open-minded and receptive young people are when trusted with honest, practical conversations. Many expressed that this was the first time they were hearing such information in a clear and relatable way.
Our Commitment
This outreach reinforced our mission to create environments where teenagers feel valued, informed, and supported. By raising awareness and building resilience, we are laying the foundation for a future where young people are not only protected but also empowered to thrive.
We remain committed to reaching more communities with programs that inspire hope, safety, and purpose for the next generation. Together, we can build a society where every teenager grows with confidence and strength.
